OFFICIAL RULES

1.             This will be a team tournament.  The entry fee is $110.00 per team which includes big bass of $10.00 per team.  Unless you have a Corps of Engineers annual park pass present at registration, CEN-TEX Basshunters must collect the $3 park entrance fee.

2.             A team will consist of two anglers fishing from the same boat, however, an angler may fish alone but that person will be considered a team and therefore must pay the full entry fee.

3.             Cen-Tex Bass Hunters reserves the right to reject any entry who has exhibited poor sportsmanship or one who has been previously banned from any other tournament.

4.             All entry fees must be paid before fishing. Only cash will be accepted. All entrants must be processed at tournament headquarters prior to the start of the tournament. Headquarters will be at the Temple Lake Park on Lake Belton. Entrants will be processed beginning at 4:30 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. Sunday, March 8th, 2009. A live-well check may be performed prior to processing by Cen-Tex Basshunters.

5.             Fishing hours are from Safe Light until 3:00 p.m., March 8th, 2009.

6.             Lake Belton will be off limits to all contestants for fishing or locating fish from 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1st, 2009 until Saturday, March 7th, 2009.

7.             Contestants may launch at any ramp on Belton Lake on Sunday, March 8th, 2009 and SAFELY motor to Temple Lake Park for registration.

8.             There will be a five (5) bass limit per team for this tournament.

9.             Only 14 -inch or longer Black Bass, Kentucky Spotted Bass, or Smallmouth Bass, measured on a Bingham Check-It Stick, with mouth closed, caught on Lake Belton during official fishing times and under all conditions herein specified, may be weighed. IMPORTANT: Weigh-In Director will fan or pinch a fish’s tail to make 14 inches. A short fish will disqualify a team.

10.           Weigh-site is at Temple Lake Park. Contestants must be CHECKED IN by 3:00 p.m. or in line, which will be located in front of weigh-in site. No trailering to weigh in site allowed. Violation will result in immediate disqualification.

11.           Fish on ice or showing indications of having been caught or kept illegally or in violation of any tournament rule will be disallowed.

12.           Only one (1) rod may be used at any one time, and each cast must be completed before another is made. Only artificial baits may be used with pork-rind trailers, the only exception. Trolling with the combustion motor is not allowed.

13.           Tournament officials may check your boat, coolers, live wells, etc. at any time. Failure to cooperate will result in disqualification.

14.                 All contestants will take part in a “Live Release Program” at the weigh-in. It will be your responsibility to keep your catch alive. Weigh-in bags are the responsibility of individual teams.  All fish will become the property of the sponsor after being weighed or culled. Remember, everyone will benefit from wildlife conservation.

15.                 Cen-Tex Bass Hunters always uses Catch-N-Release in our livewells no matter what the time of year.  We highly recommend this method of preservation to help combat the misunderstood, misrepresented and controversial issues associated with “The Delayed Mortality Issue” brought up by agencies which control and oversee our public reservoirs and the generally misguided and ill-informed non-fishing public awareness groups.  At Cen-Tex we believe in the preservation of our beloved sport for our future and the many future generations!

16.           In connection with Rule 14 above, a four ounce (4 oz) penalty will be given for each dead fish (as determined by the judges) weighed in.

17.           Winner will be determined by total weight of fish, including “dead penalties.” Ties will split totals of both placed winning prizes.

18.           All contestants must be 18 years of age or older unless they have parental consent.

19.           Fishing will not be permitted within 50 yards of any marina gas pump, inside any restricted area, or any other facility whether it be public or private.

20.           All state, federal, and local laws must be observed.

21.           U.S. Coast Guard approved life preservers must be worn by each contestant while the gasoline engine is in use. The use of kill switches is required.

22.           Any protest must be in writing no later than 15 minutes after the close of weigh-in and before the awards presentations.

23.           Violations of any rule will result in automatic disqualification. Decisions of the judges are final.

24.           All prizewinners are subject to polygraph. Failure to pass the polygraph will disqualify the team from all prizes. Any team members judged by polygraph examiner to be intoxicated at the time said team member is required to take a polygraph examination will result in disqualification of the team.

25.                 In case of boat trouble, anglers may return to weigh-in point in another contestant’s boat.

26.                 There will be 1 (one) place paid out per 10 (ten) teams with 80% payback on all entries. There will be 100% payback on big bass pot with a 70/30 split for 1st and 2nd place Big Bass.

27.                 Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed during tournament hours and may not be carried in the boat.

28.                 For more information contact Dan Watson @ (254) 245-7649 or Elton Brock @ (254) 913-7895.
